Project Description

SST provides out-patient orthopedic physical therapy and rehabiliation programs that specialize in treating the athlete or active individual who wants to return to a high level of function. In our setting, a physical therapist (PT) is an allied health care profession who treats individuals of all ages who have conditions, illnesses, or injuries that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities.
The process starts with an initial examination to determine what impairments and limitations are present. A plan of care is then established to promote improved motion or mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent further disability in the future. PT’s develop either a home exercise program or a gym oriented wellness program to promote a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Treatment interventions may include stretching or therapeutic exercise, manual therapy therapy techniques such as massage, joint mobilization or SASTM, functional training, and the application of various modalities to address pain or inflammation.
Physical therapy is typically covered by health insruance when a patient is referred by a physician. Our programs have a strong emphasis on movement, exercise and functional activities. A typical session will last from 45 to 60 minutes
