Joel Johnson – CEO & Managing Partner

Joel is a graduate of Texas Tech University and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  Joel has worked in a variety of healthcare industries in the Central Florida area since 1988.  He has worked in the fields of sports medicine, information technology, tele-radiology, and generic drug dispensing as a clinician, chief executive business administrator, managing partner and shareholder. Joel is the Co-Owner and Managing Partner of the SST Group, Inc., dba SST Rehab (Out-Patient Rehabilitation Sports Medicine Services and staffing). Management & Staffing Services are provided to the following:  Orlando Orthopaedic Centers, WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), and the D1 Performance Development Center.  His current role with the SST Group includes strategic leadership planning and medical networking.  He also represented his company as the Executive Director of Sports Medicine Services to the former Orlando Predators of the Professional Arena Football League (2000-2016 season).

In addition to the SST Group, Joel serves as the Co-founder, CEO and Managing Partner for the Genesis Healthcare Management, Inc. (Information Technology and Management Company) which has developed a new “US Patent Approved” US 9,710,599 B1 proprietary software application named “Genesis Vault”.  This new 2017 US Patent approved business venture of GHM is currently in the deployment stage for market delivery 2020.  The focus will be on providing a secure proprietary network that will transfer diagnostic images that works closely with stakeholders within the healthcare and insurance industries and provide professional diagnostic reads of radiological studies.

Joel is a graduate of Leadership Orlando and Leadership Central Florida.  Joel currently serves on the Board of Directors for the following organizations:  Orlando Orthopaedic Foundation for the Orlando Orthopaedic Centers, Wind River Ranch Ministries and Healing Warriors, Advisory Board Member (Sports Medicine Services) and the Medical Coordinator for the Orlando “Cure Bowl” College Football Bowl Game.  Joel also served as the Vice-Chair on the BOD for the Ropers West Orange YMCA and as the Chair for the Community Support Campaign.  He served as a founding member on the Orlando Area Committee on Foreign Relations.  Joel served on past committees as Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Japan-American Society, Metro Orlando International Affairs Commission (Sports Committee), Orlando’s Economic Development Commission on the Sister Cities Committees with Brazil and Japan, President of the Orlando Young Professionals Group, Education Committee of the Athletic Trainers Association of Florida, and was also honored as one of the Orlando Business Journal 2001 Up and Comer’s Award in business development.

Prior to becoming the managing partner for the SST Group, Joel was the Assistant Medical Coordinator for the World Cup Orlando’94,and provided sports medicine services for the Olympic Soccer ’96.  He also served as the Area Manager for Rehability Sports Medicine of the American Rehability Services, Inc.  He was responsible for business operations and management of out-patient rehabilitation services for physical, occupational, speech, and brain injury along with athletic training services for the South Florida area locations in Orlando, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Kissimmee, and Lakeland.

Joel has served as a delegation member with the Economic Development Commission of Florida and the City of Orlando for Sports and Healthcare issues to the following countries:  Japan, China, Russia, Brazil, and Argentina.  He also was an Ambassador for Rotary International to the country of Chile and has served on mission trips to the Amazon River and Honduras.  He also actively serves with his family at the Wind River Ranch Ministries in Colorado for the Healing Warriors Program that serves our Wounded Warriors and their families.

Joel’s beloved wife name is Shari. They have two children, Grace and Jacob.
